Public Transport Buses

Once you get here, a car is one of the best ways to get around the island. And for international travellers, we drive on the left hand side of the road just like on the mainland! Please try to use the passing places on the left when you meet a car on our single track road.
Alternatively, if you need a taxi, these are available from Islay Taxis. Car hire is also available on Islay from the airport and in Port Ellen from Cresswell Cars and Islay Car Hire.
If you prefer public transport, Garelochhead Coaches operate on the island, with the number 456 bus travelling between Port Feolin and Inverlussa (via Craighouse and Lagg).
You may like to explore Jura by on foot or by bike. You can bring your own bike over on the ferry from Islay.

Jura Boat Tours offers bespoke RIB (rigid inflatable boat) tours to various areas of outstanding natural beauty (and an abundance of wildlife) around the island’s shores. Enjoy the Corryvreckan Whirlpool, raised beaches, caves, lighthouses and more.
Islay Taxis are able to provide bookings for both short and long journeys, including providing mainland transfers. They are more than happy to help arrange full day or part day trips to Jura incorporating any of the Islay distilleries if requested.
