Jura Passenger Ferry

An unforgettable journey to Jura

Montage 1 Min)

The Jura Passenger Ferry is managed and operated by Nicol Mackinnon of Islay Sea Safaris. The ferry (named Shannick) is a Stormforce 11, offering the best in RIB (rigid inflatable boat) experiences. The deep V hull offers maximum stability and comfort with seating for 12 passengers and 2 crew.

The hard top means you’ll still stay warm and dry while enjoying the ever changing views, wildlife and historical sites that Jura and its waters have to offer. This is a journey you will never forget.

In the interests of safety, anyone who suffers from back or neck problems is advised not to travel with us. We also ask that all passengers should arrive at least 10 minutes before departure time.

You can bring luggage up to 20kgs with you on the crossing, but if you need a larger allowance, please give us a call to discuss in advance.

If you are traveling by car, there isn't a huge amount of space near the pier to park, so we strongly recommend parking across from the Tayvallich Village Hall, at the far end of the village in the car park.

Opening Times

Please note that we are not currently sailing on Tuesdays.

Additionally, new government guidelines on social distancing against the spread of COVID means that we are only able to transport a reduced number of passengers. This means that all bookings are to be made by phone or text via Skipper Nicol on 07768 450 000. Please note that online bookings and payments are not available at the moment.
